The 'luxury' HP Specter x360 is back with a new processor, the Intel Tiger Lake CPU. As expected, the performance is very impressive, and the benchmark score was the fastest ever recorded.

Its features and functions are as impressive as its speed. With a spacious display, powerful graphics, and excellent battery life, the Specter x360 14 will please both productivity-conscious and content creators alike. Specifications such as facial and fingerprint recognition, physical camera shutter, and one Thunderbolt 4 port are also advantages.

The mid-range model reviewed by PCWorld lacks some features, but the memory and CPU are the same. The Core i7-1165G7 processor and 16GB of memory provide powerful performance. The integrated graphics card Intel Iris Xe GPU is useful for mobile content creators, and the Specter x360 13.5-inch display (first in the Specter series) with a 3:2 aspect ratio is perfect for working with long word documents or Excel spreadsheets.

Thunderbolt 4 represents Specter's superior connectivity capabilities. Wi-Fi 6 support is available for users with modern routers. In addition to fingerprint and face IR options, an MPP 2.0 compatible HP tilt pen that can be recharged is provided as standard.

The Specter x360 14 is equipped with the HP Command Center Suite, a resource management configuration system. The first tool is Smart Sense. When on battery power, optimize performance based on open applications, use 'Balanced', 'Cool', 'Quiet', 'Power Saver' mode, or performance You can switch to the 'Performance' mode that focuses on

There's also a network booster that ensures quality of service for bandwidth-hungry apps, and a focus mode that dims inactive windows so you can focus on your work. Completing the command center is an adaptive color mode that adjusts the display color temperature based on ambient lighting. The display controls can fine-tune the color fidelity of the screen. Finally, 'in-bag detection' optimizes the Specter's power consumption and keeps the Specter x360 14 cool in a bag or backpack.

The Specter x360 14 is branded Intel Evo. It means that it is designed to specific specifications. EVO is equipped with an 11th generation Core i5 or Core i7 processor, a 12 to 15-inch display with FHD or higher resolution, a 15mm or smaller chassis, and Intel Dynamic Tuning Technology that intelligently balances CPU and GPU workloads to optimize battery life. It is a brand given to installed products.

design

The HP Specter x360 has long had a reputation for being stylish and stylish notebook computers. The new Specter x360 14 is no different. Specter's CNC machining, jewel-like cutting edges, and logo engraved hinges attract people's attention more than ever before. This notebook computer feels sturdy and luxurious.

'Strong' also means 'a little heavy'. I could feel the difference because I had been working with a light-weight laptop computer for the past few weeks. The positive thing is that it weighs in with a generous 65Wh battery. I'll go into more detail later, but it's actually a big plus.

display

The HP Specter x360 14 is the first in this family to feature a 3:2 aspect ratio for its display. There are a lot of black spots when watching a movie in full screen, but less scrolling is required when working with long documents or spreadsheets. It is a 'compromise' that is not bad for 'mobile workers'.

The display of the Specter x360 14 presents a pleasure to watch. Ultra-thin bezels and a screen-to-body ratio of 90.33% provide maximum viewing space. The display supports 100% DCI-P2 color gamut. Along with all of the aforementioned adaptive color and color accuracy, it helps with creative work. The IPS display boasts a wide viewing angle. However, if privacy is important to you, you can opt for the Specter model with the HP Sure View Privacy Screen.

Keyboard, trackpad, speakers and webcam

The keyboard of the HP Specter x360 14 has a sleek, luxurious feel. It satisfies people like me who take typing seriously. A laptop computer of this size does not have a numeric keypad. However, on the right are the Delete, Home, Page Up/Down, and End key columns.

There's an HP command center, a keyboard backlight (two levels), and a hotkey for muting the microphone. There is also a hotkey that triggers the webcam's physical camera shutter. The fact that the shutter closes is visible is an advantage, but personally, I would like to see more companies adopting physical shutters like the Specter x360 14.
