Corsair announced that it will release the MP600 PRO LPX PCIe Gen4x4 NV Me 1.4 M.2 SSD, an SSD that provides high-performance storage optimized for PS5 and expands console storage space up to 4TB.

The company explained that it is offering a solution by massively upgrading the storage of PS5 users who were frustrated by the lack of game storage capacity and slow loading speed.

In August 2021, Sony announced M.2 SSD expansion support through the PS5 beta program. However, it was not easy for users to upgrade by hand as it presented strict specifications such as SSD with PCIe Gen4x4 NV Me interface rather than SATA standard, sequential read speed of 5500MB/s or more, and required installation of a heat sink.

In the midst of this, the MP600 Pro LPX released by Corsair greatly improves the loading speed by exceeding all M.2 SSD specifications required for PS5. The MP600 Pro LPX can be installed simply by installing it in the PS5's SSD slot, and installation will not affect the PS5's warranty. Also, with optimized system compatibility, the PS5 console recognizes the capacity immediately after installation.

MP600 Pro LPX with PCIe Gen4x4 technology provides super-fast sequential read speeds of up to 7100MB/s, and sequential write speeds of 5800MB/s for 1TB and 6800MB/s for 2TB and 4TB products, supporting super-fast loading of large game files. In addition, the MP600 Pro LPX supports the maximum bandwidth of PCIe Gen4, providing storage capacities from 1TB, 2TB to 4TB, making the game library comfortable for users regardless of whether they have 4 or 40 games.

The MP600 Pro LPX measures 80mm long, 23mm wide, and 11mm thick, including the heat sink, and has a compact M.2 2280 form factor, perfect for the PS5's M.2 SSD slot. The pre-mounted low-profile aluminum heatsink for slim size effectively dissipates heat to reduce throttling of the MP600 Pro LPX, maintaining the SSD's high performance and not overheating even after prolonged use.
